It’s a holy matrimony.
Season after season, Kanye West has designed highly desirable footwear and garment collects with Adidas. Now, both were bolstering their partnership with a new line of Yeezy-branded footwear, accessories and dres for all genders, and retail store that will specifically sell the products.
Adidas is touting it as the “most significant partnership ever created between a non-athlete and an athletic brand, ” according to an announcement issued Wednesday.
Plans for the “adidas+ KANYE WEST” lineare ambitious: an Adidas team based in their Portland, Oregon headquarters will work with West to oversee all creations that will be for both athletic performance and lifestyle wear, some of which will end up in the new co-branded stores. West told the Wall Street Journal he wants NBA and NFL players wearing his performance wear during games, but no concrete plans are in place.
“These past two years adidas and YEEZY have given a glimpse into our future, ” West said in a statement. “This partnership illustrates that anyone with a dream can dream without limitations.”
Yeezy shoes are known for selling out fast and being pricey. It’s unclear what this new partnership means for the availability and cost point of the new line.
While there are a variety of fans that are aroused about the bargain, a few are questioning what this means for the quality of the products once they are no longer exclusive.

I think it’s merely a matter of time before all major department stores start carrying the Yeezy’s.

I wonder if mass producing the Yeezy line, including permanent Yeezy stores could water the down the demand…

If this partnership may entail more people can afford to join the clique, is that a bad thing?
