Creepy clown sightings have spread across two states in the United States.
The buffoons, first sighted in August, appear to have widened their operational region from South to North Carolina with three new sightings reported to police.
The latest sighting occurs on Monday at 5846 Old Oak Ridge Road in The Park at Oak Ridge, Greensboro, according to police spokesperson Susan Danielsen. A human chased the masked, red-haired person who was wearing yellow dotted shirt and blue gasps into the timbers with a machete.
Police could not find the clown.
On Sunday, two children reported watching a clown wearing white gloves, red shoes and with bushy-red hair, a white face and red nose in 1200 block of East 29 th Street, Winston-Salem. It reportedly tried to entice them into the timbers with the promise of candy. Another clown sighting took place during Hope Street, Winston-Salem.

It all started in Greenville, South Carolina on Aug. 20. There were multiple reports of “a suspicious person garmented in circus buffoon dres and white face paint” trying to entice kids into the timbers close to Fleetwood Manor Apartments.
Witnesses were initially uncooperative, but when an officer made a follow-up visit, additional witnesses came forward, according to WYFF. One girl said her son reported watching buffoons “whispering” and trying to entice him into the timbers and, later, watched buffoons in the same region flashing green lights.
Other children reported watching buffoons in the timbers attempting to lure them by showing them fund.
“It’s illegal. It’s dangerous. It’s inappropriate, and it’s generating community concern so it needs to stop, ” Greenville Police Chief Ken Miller told at a press conference on Sept. 1. “This is something that we’re taking very seriously, especially because of the allegations of people garmented in clown attires trying to entice children into the woods.”
