I've been wearing these Asics Gel-Antares for many years. These Running Shoes are very light and they're so soft that no "break in" is required at all.

The Running Shoes seemed {somewhat longer|a little bit longer than most compared to other Asics Gel-Antares in the same size that I have. Thank goodness - these are way more comfortable.

I've worn Asics Gel-Antares and a few other shoes with the same sole design, both lace-up and slip-on, for many years. I estimate 10 pair. They have always been quite comfortable and the sole is much more slip resistant than the material bottoms which come on other dress Running Shoes.
